If it is so they are a self restrained arsonist, once very two years suggests a lot of restraint. The arsonist down around here once started appear to keep going until caught striking several times in the one season.
Hope they get caught soon.

In the last 3 months we have had 3 lots of roadside tree clearing heaps lit up deliberately, fortunately we had substantial breaks around the heaps, they were too hot to extinguish and had to be watched until they burnt out.We also had a roadside fire just out of town just before xmas, funnily enough that one was unexplained, plus we had one nearby 2 years before. There was also another unexplained roadside fire north of town a few weeks ago.
The roadside fires may well be careless smokers discarding butts,or failed/failing wheel bearings.

Isn't Bedfordale on the way down to your place Andrew.
I see on the news that they arrested a second "volunteer" from the local brigade there on charges of arson yesterday - that's two from the same brigade in less than a week.
Bastards should be shot if you ask me. :censored:
Was talking to a couple of people yesterday at the fire, they were blaming kids and school holidays.Told them to have a think,Ive been in town for 12 years and on farms in the area for another 10 years, these fires are regular.IF it was kids they would have grown up and left town by now or grown out of it.Plus its a fair hike to the cemetry on foot or pushbike,if they wanted to torch that reserve they only need to light it up on the town side;););)

Dave, looks like they might have found one up your way:
Woman arrested following Tatura fire - Victoria Police News
Bloody amazing..
We have had one now for the past 12 months, setting fire to roadside reserves.
He/she had gone quiet, making me think that the person/s responsible had either moved on or quit before being caught.
Picked a bad night to do it, 40 degrees today and tomorrow with total fire bans in force.
I do wonder if last nights was the same person. This woman is yet to be charged though.
I did see all the police at the scene doing forensics today when I went past.
