AS WAS ANNOUNCED ON 1st October 2014


From 1 January 2015

From 1 January 2015 new users will get 2 months free access to the system and then access will be reduced to The Pinnacles and Technical Chat areas and the feature set will be reduced in other areas UNLESS you hold a current subscription.

If you have been here more than 3 months on that date your access will be reduced accordingly.

The current bronze subscriber, silver, gold, and vendor level subscriptions will continue as they have in the past without change.

I am well aware this will have an impact and change the dynamic of the system but what needs to be done, needs to be done.

The extra income will ensure the system remains a viable entity.

You can read but not post in Technical Areas and The Pinnacles
You can read and post in all other areas you normally have access to.

WHY THE BIG CHANGE?

Up till now the system has survived on income from the advertising, voluntary subscriber payments, donations and when necessary from my own pockets.

After my health scare last year i realised that if i went, so would all the work of so many other people and that would be a great loss IMHO.

Lying in hospital i had plenty of time to ponder various scenarios and i came to the conclusion that the only chance AULRO.com had of outlasting me was if i made it self sufficient and maintainable as a viable business.

Sadly the only way to do that is to have a somewhat predictable income stream.

There were, and still are, many discussions in the background trying to wrestle with the best way forward.

I have undertaken what i consider the best course of action to try and implement a strategy that will give the system the basic footings of a sustainable business model so everything that the myriads of users over the years have contributed isnt lost if i can no longer maintain it personally.
