If only these filthy imbeciles realised they are giving the "lockem out" brigade the ammunition they need to lock the gates to many of the places we know and love.
Look at the Colo area. Many of the tracks we used to go on and the fire trails into some of the really pretty valleys are now closed due to the disgusting littering habits of both 4WDrivers and Trail Bikers.
Even out in some of the lonely tracks in the centre you see dunny paper with signatures on them.
It is pretty simple. If you take it in - take it out.

He had these vinyl bags made up to fit on our spare wheel carriers. I know there are proprietary ones you can also get. They cost us about $80 each to have made and with a plastic garbage bag inside they are a convenient way to tote you rubbish out to a location where you can responsibly dispose of it.
Maybe if we wheeled a 240 litre Otto bin full of 10 day old prawn heads and nappies into their lounge rooms and dumped it they might get the message - then again probably not.

we actually have a rear tire cover garbage bag from MSA and have to say it is one of our best purchases. However it was more than the $80 you quoted. It has done us well on several outback trips and weekends away.
I know that the Sydney LROC does a clean up Australia day.. does anyone know where that is going to be this year?
