$11 is bugger all and I believe everyone can afford it. I also believe it isn't anywhere near enough to deter even a dead set tight arse from paying. If someone isn't paying there is simply a deeper reason, some sort of dissatisfaction with the site, or more probably, internet forums in general, particularly those with louder mouthed aggressive contributors. The $11 is just an excuse to pull the plug. It's come at a bad time for me as I have just let a number of subscriptions to other sites slip for the above reasons. It doesn't help either that I have a Freelander 2 that basically has never had much go wrong with it. You need constant issues to get the value everyone is talking about. :) I'll stick around as a lurker and wait for my internet mood to lighten a bit.....
I am getting the subscription because this forum has helped me a lot. Though i have been travelling for the last few months and only logged in occasionally. So i had no idea about any of this. If a pm or email was sent to every user to inform us that would have been great. Also having a yearly subscription due at this time of the year sucks. I have my Car Rego on Xmas eve and i keep asking vic roads for a 6 month pass but no luck.
I'm a tight arse :D. Before I open my wallet to pay the $11.00, is there a discount for cash ?
In my small way, I am clicking on the banners now, never thought about it before.
Here is free everything, power, gas, car, Internet, you only buy your food and grog.
Now times are a bit tough we are looking at some nominal charges to reduce excess usage, e.g A/C on while at work. You should hear the howls :p
What about us, the international users of AULRO? How are we going to pay the subscription? Paypall is not an option since it refuses all credit card issued from our banks.
Any help?
I have an idea....the cash rate for subscriptions is $12 I hear. Therefore, simply send 14,808 Lebanese Pounds by post in a plain unmarked envelope except for the words "from lebanon". Problem solved.
NB ****! How much do Land Rovers cost on Lebanon, a gazzillion LBP? :D
