Did you mention that Freddy the Freelander has different spelling to FFReddy the FFR?
Should I tell you about "Captain Pneumo", he's the SIIB service truck with a PTO driven 4 cyl compressor, or "Gunna" the 80 from Gunning that I'm gunner restore one day! Then there's "Gog" the demon of biblical proportions SIIB ex-SADF radio truck now camper, Wazza the Mk3 who was a fire truck after he was a Army truck and who came from Warwick (and apart from Kay, Avis and Bexy I've still got all of them and a few more)
Now what to name my Heritage in November, Guido Fawkes, that should make sparks fly?
I see your point. Messrs Ford, Porsche, Ferrari, Morris, Holden, Bentley hang your heads in shame. And don't name it after your daughter Mercedes. And don't think about it for tyres - Dunlop, Goodrich. Mr Otto and Diesel shame, shame. And don't start me on Boeing or Fokker or De Haviland. Such *****. Better to just have called them horse less carriage, tyre (tire?), 4 stroke and compression ignition* and aeroplane.
(*Actually Diesel wanted to get the most energy out of fuel. Compression ignition is the best way of doing this in an expanding gas engine as the higher the compression the more energy in any expanding gas engine . So an engine that uses diesel fuel but is relatively low compression eg Mazda Skyactiv Diesel isnt part of the original design intent of Mr Diesel).
I forgot that my current Defender has a name.
However, I should point out that the name is used only in conversation with my 3 yr old and 5 yr old granddaughters.
In fact it was my granddaughter who began calling it "Poppy's Truck."
Does that count? :p
My Disco 1 has been christened Slo-Mo. Don't go too fast, but she goes pretty far!
