My D2 has earned some colourful names in the past, during maintenance. Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

    Anger management issues?

I would recommend having a nice soothing chat to your Land Rover but that could be a bit awkward if you don't know its name.

We once had two Honda Accords. It was a lot easier referring to "Ruby" (the red one) and "Snowy" (the white one) than saying "the red one".
My Honda 90 step-through motorbike (my first motorized transport) was "Big Bertha" to remind me not to get ideas above my station...
The Landy is "Sandy" because it rhymes and he's the colour of sand.
All our vehicles have names, just makes it easier to refer to them in conversation.
"Dorothy" is our 1946 Auster aircraft, "Scrubby" is our Subaru Forester, and "Tiny" is the Hyundai Getz.
And, of course, the Morris 1100 is obviously "Morrie".

    Anthropomorphic, hell no.....

Oh by the way, upon his death, Snowy was an organ donor. He donated his gearbox to Ruby to extend her life, and his body went to the local firies to practice their rescue techniques...

Just to add to this, my 101 is called 'Mick' for two reasons. 1, It served in Northern Ireland.. (It would be Paddy if it had come from the south), and 2, A good friend Mick helped me with the purchase viewing!! So there!

I have never names any of my own vehicles, but I understand why others do and have often found some of them quite clever.

When I was at UNE in the 60s, I accompanied the prehistory lecturer on a number of archaeological digs in the New England area. Her own Series IIA SWB and the university owned Series IIA LWB were named, appropriately, after characters from Greek mythology.

One one occasion, the university Series IIA was unavailable and we were forced to use a LWB Toyota; one of the early ones with a three speed gearbox and a carby that could not cope with steep inclines.

Given our universally hostile attitude towards the Toyota, it met with everyone's approval when it was named "Tokyo Rose".
