Defenderzook was looking at these a while ago, he might know more. Matt
What does anybody know about these.
They appear to be yet another re-badge of the Ox/T-Max/Brawn jobbies, but the $1750 deal for winch, plasma & cordless remote seems pretty good.

i was told to stick to popular brands that can be repaired any where in australia due to parts availability......meaning that a brand that has never been heard of before means no one will have heard of any required replacement parts should anything go wrong.
i never bothered after that.
I will be buying a magnum winch when i have the money. They are made by warn and also sold by ARB, like warn. MattOriginally posted by DEFENDERZOOK

Parts availability is one of those things that is sometimes used to scare people from trying something new. So many people drive around Australia in a Toyota and won't consider a Land Rover, because of the parts availability fear.
In reality, as long as you have a major supplier in a capital city who keeps stock and can airbag it, then you're fine. When I lived in the Kimberley, the local Caterpillar dealership carried all Land Rover consumables and the Toyota dealership carried Toyota consumables. If anyone needed parts, both would air freight them overnight.
so youre saying thats a rumour that the main names in winches may have started?
clever move on their behalf.
Parts availability. As I said above, these Thor jobbies look to me like the same 5.5hp Chinese made winches that are sold under quite a few different names now: Brawn, T-Max, Ox (electric) etc, so I would have thought that most, if not all parts, would be interchangeable.
I guess what I'm really asking is: does anybody know for sure whether these are the same as the T-Max/Brawn/Ox units. If they are, then the package deal with cordless remote and plasma rope is a bargain.

I'm just saying look at the product, if it's good and parts are available, distance doesn't matter that much.
