As for the F35, a designed by committee one plane does all 'dream' that will never amount to anything but a 'does every thing badly and nothing well disaster . I can remember vividly on patrol in a major exercise when one came over a small rise using its terrain hugging capability and slipped down the the other side directly towards us and took our photo....it would have been barely 100' above the ground and probably doing 500mph.....we had no idea it was coming ....it was still "silent" when we saw it , then got hammered by its noise.
oh yes... we were all wiped out by 'cluster bombs'.....I think it was. That was good cause we went non tac for a couple of days until we were reborn by the umpires.
