Screw the Yanks, they have not delivered the plane we ordered,we had to update our F18's at our cost and then replace them completely because they wore out again at our cost,Billions have been spent and we still don't have what we paid for.The Rafale,Eurofighter and Gripen all fly and all do 95% of the things the F35 will do one day maybe at much lower cost. Problem is we didn't order a specific plane we agreed to develop a new plane and share the cost. Its the only way to get cutting edge equipment other wise we would have had to wait till first orders were delivered then we would get ours after everybody else.

Thats all well and good but ''our cutting edge plane'' still doesn't fly and because of that we are using planes that would be cannon fodder in a shooting war,if we ever get them we will not have an Air Force, just a dozen or so planes flying about. Pat

    and what does that mean?

We have sent one pilot over to start training and another of our test pilots to join him later this year.

Thats two pilots in training and one aeroplane wheeled out and flown......it isn't delivered....it's not here , is it?

The RAAF say they expect to have a squadron operational in 2020.

How long ago did this venture start?

I get the impression that the west are looking towards India , to put a balance in Asia . As chinas military grows , then the only county that can match them is India . We have seen the easing of selling them Uranium .The USA are sharing technology with the Indians , pus the west are queuing up to sell them hi tech weapons . Now I don't think that It's quite the same with China

The real threat are all those Chinese cyclists, 100,000,000's of them, all deliberately blocking Mick Marsh in a mass invasion , wouldn't that fire up that other thread
