When I lived in Cairns they were called The Cane Toad of the Sky.
Hi HarryO , this is an interesting topic . I was listening to someone on the radio a while back talking about them . He was saying that they are now listed as bad as feral cats , cane toads ,and other introduced pests . After studying them they are very cleaver , they look out for one another , and signal any danger . The big problem he was saying was that they take the eggs of indigenous birds , and or kill the young . They take over areas , so the more you see of them the less you will see of the natives . I know we have a problem with them in my area . They like to nest in car ports , and roofs . They also make a mess . If I had my way they should be eradicated !!..

Good luck!
Noisy miners are very territorial they will defend their territory in communal groups and even attack larger birds of prey, amphibians and mammals (but not MAMILs successfully at least).
You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
