Oh, and look at the high beam switch on the floor!

I always found Joe and Alan to be ok, a lot of people had run ins with them, but cant say we had any problems personally or professionally (they used to have the pad contract to feed our crusher in Kambalda). One of my school friends Bruce still works for Joey in Perth. Those 2 always liked their F trucks. They actually sent another friend that used to work for them to pick one specially imported into Qld to pick it up and drive it back to Kambalda.

Last time I saw Joe, he came into our office and was driving a big, flash Mercedes 4WD wagon (which he said was his wife's car).

Came across Alan more recently though. Spotted a Ford F250 with an FJ ute on a trailer behind it pulled up in Kellerberrin. Stopped for a chat and he said he was heading up to Kambalda with the ute.

Was wondering which site you were at down there - thought it might have been GoldFields. I suppose any work is worth taking at the moment. I'm back with my employer of the past few years again, but now working as a contractor / consultant from home. Currently working on the design of new or upgraded crushing plant and an iron ore beneficiation plant for Cockatoo Island. Should be at least a couple of months in it - and I'm home every night.

The Management has just pulled up a pic of George from "book full of faces" standing along side his Holden (Q 543-961 red wheels and all) in Queen St probably taken in the 90's as his hair is receding and greying but he is still wearing those "pointy toe shoes"

    George Kiprios,died in 2009 aged 82.

    cheers

Thought I would put in one for the Ford camp.

My Dad bought this car new in 1957 and has had it ever since. Kept it like showroom condition even though it was his daily drive till 1985 when he bought a ute to run around in.

Unfortunately he has dementia really bad and is in care. The photo is him standing near his pride and joy outside the home.

He can't drive it obviously but we go and pick him up and take him for a drive. He still remembers the car and says "this is a good car you know"

Very nice Ford and obviously very well maintained. One of the better "originals" I've seen.

Is a real credit to your dad.
    Cheers .........

He had a lair stage where he fitted twin exhausts and mag wheels but decided to go back to fully original. It is the same today as the day it rolled off the driveway at Jubilee Ford Five Dock in 1957.

I love the old valve radio in it that you switch on and a couple of minutes later it crackles into life.

Taken my son and daughter to their formals in it and always get a lot of heads turning when they hear the V8 burble coming down the road.

Looks like a well loved and kept example of an old Ford.
