    That's a good looking thing . I apologise for jumping the gun too, I thought you were looking to fill the gap between the posts and leave the post visible from the outside. Coarse thread screws or fine ?

    As fine as I could get with a hex head. 12-14 x 30mm hex head.

    What I'd call "fine thread" only came in countersunk, philips head which I think would not have worked here given the angle extrusion I was anchoring.

    I got one length of 16mm channel and used that on either end to cover the end of the slats.
