Pay on line and the computers will be up to date.

No requirement to carry papers here, either but it would be easy to put the details into one's phone - or actually leave the downloaded email on one's phone.

So if your court driving an unregistered vehicle , and the plates are removed . You pay your rego , you pay the fine ! Do you get your plates back ? or do you have to get new plates ? I can't see the police taken number plates back to vic roads . Jim

In that situation, new plates, new rego number. Oh, it is considered a new registration so a RWC has to be provided. If you wanted the old registration number, that would be considered a custom plate so you can add at least an extra $250 on to that.
This happened to a mate. He didn't pay his rego for three years. At the end of the process he reckoned he was ahead.
