    Bloody Yapper dogs!

After putting up with a yappy maltese terrier next door for years. one that constantly barks at everything the elderly lady next door sold her house and moved yesterday. She is going into a retirement village and was worried her yappy dog would be frowned upon by the other residents
So a week ago they hired a guy from Stop Bark. within a week it stooped barking/yapping. It actually befriended me instead of trying to savage me.
    years too late.
Yesterday after settlement the new owners moved in and guess what, they also have a little yapper . The damn thing already starts yapping.
This morning it welcomes itself into my neighborhood by leaving its turds deposited in front of my letter box
I can see it's going to be my public enemy number 1 already.

Get a brochure from the company and stick it in the neighbour's letter box (with the dog droppings).

We had that (the yapping) a few years ago from the neighbour across the road. The yappers would start in the middle of the night and it used to sound like someone was being murdered. Not nice waking in fright every night thinking that someone is committing a felony!

In the end we installed roller shutters which blocked out a lot of the noise. A noisy box aircon helped too.

All dogs can be trained. We used to have 2 German Shepherd's who never barked unless there was good reason to. We trained then that way. People seem to think that small dogs don't require training. But a dog is still a dog regardless of the size.

Our next door neighbour has a yapping little terrier. It's been there about 8 years and still yaps at us when we go out the side door. Even the husband of the dog's owner yells at it to shut up.

The dog's owner won't socialise the dog. If she's out walking the dog and another dog (on leash) approaches, she sweeps her dog up in her arms and talks baby talk to it

I believe the problem with small dogs, often, is that people don't treat them like dogs, so they are confused don't know whAt to do and feel insecure. It seems that if a little yapper has a go at your shoes that is 'cute', or if it gets on the couch it wants a cuddle. If my Newfoundland had a nibble on your shoe or jumped onto your couch that wouldn't be so cute. I harbour a secret desire to let him take a dump on the neighbours front lawn, their cat does to mine after all. dog is too well behaved, would never do that even if I tried!

I know it's not the dogs fault it's the owners. I just can't see how an owner can sit in there house and not hear their pooch outside barking its head off and annoying the neighbors.

A friends Newfoundland jumped on my lap once - cute isn't the word I'd use for it.... Painful is closer to the truth. I bought it on myself, I encouraged him to jump up despite my mates warnings. He did, and I suffered the consequences (which was a front paw in the goolies...)

Great dog though - better than a yapping little ****.

I do have small dogs, but pugs generally aren't yappers. They will sort of bark, but not continually and you're too busy laughing at them anyway...

Maybe all you need to do is tell them that it is annoying

A blonde and her husband are sleeping when the neighbor's dog starts barks and wakes them up. The blonde sighs, shakes her fist and says 'Wait until you see what I'm going to do to those neighbors!' She runs out of the house and five minutes later she comes back with a smile on her face. The husband asks 'So, what did you do?' The blonde says 'Well, I took the dog from their yard and I put it in our yard to see how they like it having the neighbor's dog barking all night.'

The people backing onto the side of us used to have a staffy that carried on whenever we were in the garden and they would do nothing about it. I used to take great delight in throwing things against the fence to set it off. Eventually they would get fed up with it barking and yell at it. Then it would stop and 5 minutes later I would set it off again.

They got the message and would put it inside.
