i am having a running battle with three little yappy dogs next door,it has been going on for years

They start yapping at absolutely nothing as soon as the owners drive out of their driveway.

The council has been round, bla, bla, and it is still going on.

I started hosing the one that yaps the most.It did quieten down for a while, but has started again and seems to like being hosed. The two that hate being hosed don't bark as much.

Still looking for a solution, that is not cruel.

Hose the owner down, not the dogs...

I got next doors to finally shut up after my neighbour asked me why there were stones all over his back verandah.

I said 'that's what I throw at your dog every time it barks for no reason'
he keeps it inside when they go out now. It still barks, but I can hardly hear it.

    Exactly

I often give it a good hose late in the day, when i get home from work.

I often wonder what the owners think, when they get home to find one dog soaked.

I used to throw things at it,but have run out of things to throw.

One of my brothers has a low powered air rifle,i am tempted...

    Ice cubes work well.
    The evidence melts away!

Should be difficult. Mythbusters had a good go at the ultimate sniper bullet. Ice. No evidence. Could not get it to work, always melted in the barrel.

Goodness me, all you people hosing dogs & throwing stones, how many have knocked on the door of your neighbour, and discussed the problem with them. I'm, glad I live where I live. Bob
I’m pretty sure the dinosaurs died out when they stopped gathering food and started having meetings to discuss gathering food

A bookshop is one of the only pieces of evidence we have that people are still thinking

Spoke to them numerous times, they had no interest in the issue.

Now we don't speak to them at all

We had a neighbour like that a while back. Little yappy mongrel dog that barked all day & all night, and loud music until into the early hours of the morning to top it off.

Spoke to him politely a number of times with no effect.

    Then I stopped being polite.

He doesn't live there any more, and the new neighbours also have a small dog, but we rarely hear this one at all. Didn't even know it was there for a while.
    Cheers .........
