One (more) amazing thing about QLD is how people move houses around.
I woke one morning to see the house behind us reversing towards us. special trucks just pick 'em up and take em away.
There are actually house yards (like a car yard) where you can go and pick a house and have it delivered to your block.
If you are serious about it, you should come up for a visit.
Evere heard of Tallangatta?
When they raised the height of the hume weir in the 1930's the moved the whole town like that!

no...where is tallangatta?
it makes sense though..it would have been a lot cheaper than knocking down and rebuilding a whole town.
probably would have cost about fifty dollars to move a house back then......

NEW Tallangatta is a few miles downstream of OLD Tallangatta. These two are on the Mitta arm of the weir. (Between Koetong and Sandy Creek) And they are not for from Dartmouth. If your into fishing, the latter is good, but a boat is a must.
It does not take long to shift a house like that. You'd be quite suprised.

Thanks for all the help guys, we were going to buy a block of land here, 40k, but have decided to wait, stay in the place we are in and buy a house when we move. Matt
