    Demountable homes?

Hi all, because it is going to take a while to get my transfer to the south coast, Stacey and I are looking to buy a block of land a put a house on it, so we have something to sell when we move. We want to buy the land and get a demountable home, we can get a far bigger home for a lower price than the brick veneer homes. Does anyone know of any good reputable companies, or any advise on demountable homes? Matt

One (more) amazing thing about QLD is how people move houses around.

I woke one morning to see the house behind us reversing towards us. special trucks just pick 'em up and take em away.

There are actually house yards (like a car yard) where you can go and pick a house and have it delivered to your block.

If you are serious about it, you should come up for a visit.

Yeah, we have been thinking about that. We are just researching at the moment. We need to pay off some loans etc first, but that shouldnt take long as we just have to sell the stock from the shop. Matt

Yeah, but how much does it cost to get a house moved. Most new demountable home places give the first 100km free, but what does each 100km cost after that? Matt

    they are not demountable.....

normal weatherboard homes get relocated for between 10 and 20 thousand dollars last i heard......was a few years ago though.

you still need a block of land to put it on....and these days a block with nothing on it costs more than one with a house on it....
