Don't worry i will give it no problem if these stuff up.

Interesting that some comments about the compound of the newer S/T-Cs & STTs are supposed to be softer now i'm not saying that they are wrong but from speaking to the blokes at the tyre shop and Cooper tyres they are not softer they have been treated with some sort of stuff that hardens the blocks and prevents the chipping but keeps the rest of the tyre compliant/soft to allow movement.

This is the lastest on the Cooper STT and the Armortec constuction.

The reason I stated the tread as bein softer is as follows; I had an old STT a new style STT and a current ST and AT (all tyres brand new never been driven on) and the tread on all the current tyres and the new STT were much softer than the tread on the old style STT (also had an older ST and the tread on that was very hard, but this tyre wasnt new). This got me thinking that they wont last aslong in the Km department but the warranties havnt changed so I guess time will tell.

Another thing with the new STT is its angled third ply which gives it an added bonus of sidewall strength.... I quiet like this idea.

May be it's only the people who have the white lettering showing outside that have the probs.
I have mine ( non pose factor) inside and haven no hassles with them

thats easy enough to test....flip the back around on the rim and refit it...

see if it has a problem?

By my calculations, given that they are 325mm wide, 80% of that is the height of the side wall, which is 260mm (multiplied by 2 for total height of sidewalls= 520mm) add to this the height of the rim, which is 400mm, you have a total rolling diameter of 520mm, which is approx 37in. Matt

I am intrigued by the white letter inside/ outside theory (mine are inside). The implication is that they are uni - directional? The guys with the hassles - fess up - letters in or out?

I didn't know you had a choice 8O
