    Well if money comes first, then the Greyhound Industry are stupid and wasting money, Greyhounds make great pets apparently, why don't they sell them, I know they won't sell them all, but give them to someone that can sell the rest, but I would imagine, sadly, that would be to hard.

    IMO anyone that callous and thinks that is OK, is not a nice person and I would imagine has the same disregard for anything or anyone.

    I don't understand this hatred for (so called) pests, YOU are living in THEIR environment, if you don't like it move, we have Possums, ring and brushtails, do they pee everywhere, yes, but we just clean it, a bit of vinagar in water does the trick.

    The idea of the owners draining their blood is obscene, but we don't know that happened, so what about if they were euthanised? What if a trainer did have a policy of selectively culling dogs that were unsuitable for racing? Should that be illegal? Should it be illegal for a farmer to shoot a dog?

    I'm not trying to troll, there is a moral/philosophical question here. When I heard about this I felt I needed more information before I made a moral judgement. The blood thing sickened me, but as I said I don't know if that is true.

    In my opinion 55 dead dogs in the bush is something that deserves/ requires investigation certainly, but I was not outraged by it based on that fact alone.

    Removing blood and re injecting it is known as blood doping. Prohibited but commonplace in some human sports (traditionally endurance type sports)
    The real question is how the trainers know what blood type their dogs are.

    Here is an ABC report from 2013, on the putting down of unwanted greyhounds. Seems it is a common practice, hundreds, or more each year. Makes you wonder why, if it was accepted practice , would someone dispatch so many dogs & dump them in the bush. Cost?
