No not Mutawintji. Most of the photos I put up are a bit unfair. I doubt more than two or three 4WD's visit this waterhole each year. It took us three trips to find it. A mine rail road has blocked the old access and we had to travel cross country to get to the old track. There is a hint in one photo as to the name of the waterhole and it is not far off a major Pilbara road.

I thought it looked a bit like the Pilbara area but most of the waterholes I know of in that area are in deep gorges so I'm at a loss with this one.

Am I correct in assuming that the railway that cut your original access is a fairly new one?

Realignment and instead of re-installing a crossing it was fenced.

It is a strange pool, filled by a spring, I have never seen it dry. Very hard to identify on Google Earth.

No not Wanna Munna. Weeli Wolli creek is interesting, there are waterholes further west- upstream - that have extensive petroglyphs and a very nice shady camp spot, but I haven't been there for 7-8 year, also camp spots down stream from Wonna Munna. Access is on old copper exploration tracks.
