Sorry for the delay, I've been on nightshift over the weekend.
Looking for the name of this billabong, the second photo is the clue to the location.
Hmm those photos look crap, posted in a rush before I went to bed yesterday morning. I'll see if I can get them attached in a larger size.
When I click on them they enlarge :) Have no idea ATM though

Like Mrs hh though, I have no idea where you are apart from an oasis beside a huge mudflat. At a wild guess & to get the ball rolling, I'd say Darling River (anabranch) area.
Lake Machattie ?

Thanks Xtreme, saved me some hassle (particularly as I had no idea how to get them bigger).
The panorama is taken a few km up the same track that goes past the billabong, so gives it some context. Had a better one but my wife is in the photo and she didn't want me to post it! Also, at the top of the small tree in the foreground of the photo- the left of the two- you can just see a jabiru / black-legged stork on final approach. Might give it some latitudinal context too.:D
Clue: Kimberley area.
Hmm, nearly 36 hours between guesses, better help things along;
If you were to leave the only campground on the GRR with a plastic kiddy playground, do the most photographed river crossing in Australia, then immediately turn left and leave the traffic behind, this waterhole would be not too far along your route.
