Thinking thats Mt Warning in the first shot, I'm guessing the comms towers on Mt Nardi (Nightcap NP) is where we are.

Sorry Martyn, not Mt Warning or Mt Nardi.
You are about 180 degrees in the wrong direction from home (Sydney) and the peak in the first pic was named by the same guy who named Mt Warning.
