Hmmm......... my first thought after your very revealing clue was Wentworth but then you'd be in NSW so maybe Mildura, assuming that I've at least got the correct river. :(

Tote wins the prize, near the Paddle Steamer wharf, the contraption behind us used to be a cargo barge and as the NSW border is the Southern side of the Murray River it is less than 100M from it, Regards Frank.
