This place, you can be driving for maybe 50 km in pitch darkness, just dodging roos, wombats and deer, with no sign of a light or habitation, and when you come across it, it lights up the immediate area like day - can be interestingly startling at night.

So much light in fact, that you can pull up on the mown grass verge, take a break, and make a cuppa (of billy tea if that's your preference)

If driving late, you may well be the only motor car on this road at night, but in the daytime it is much in favour with motorcyclists .....

Certainly located with frontage to the Putty Road, so you are definitely "on the right track" Roger but it is over 100km between those two places .

St Shenouda Coptic Monastery, Putty Road, Putty. I've only seen it in daylight however
