It seems that we've all been thinking SA but I'm going a bit further north and suggest that it maybe the Macdonnell Ranges? Can't place exactly where though.

It is in SA, but it's not the Gawler Ranges....
OK so maybe it is the Flinders but further north than Brachina ............ the only other approach like that that I'm aware of is the approach to the Nepabunna Area but it was 1983 when I travelled that road so memory is a little clouded. :DQuote:
