I must admit that the bridge did look a bit small to be crossing the MMR at it's mouth.

I was only going off my memory of the adjacent plaque. Anyway, here's an article on the bridge concerned and another concrete arch bridge nearby. The Hindmarsh River bridge appears to be the earliest of its type,according to the article. Another article saysQuote:
