Location of the aircraft from which I took the photo, alternatively the location of the prominent salt lake roughly in the left photo centre, either location within approx 70km would be acceptable, you will get bonus points for a lat/long for the lake , which would be excellent.

No... afraid not, it's not Lake Amadeus
I do not know any name for the lake in my photo (it's not named on my maps), but it is substantially smaller than Lake Amadeus
Clues #1 & #2 : it is quite a bit further south than Lake Amadeus, photo was taken looking generally north.
There's a bunch of unnamed lakes around 29°S 130°E. The Serpentine lakes are to the west.
