Just for people's info, Cow Plains is just off the HWY near the Pink Lakes. The property was also a mine for a while and still has a lot of machinery laying about still. Even though it was wet when I was there, it was an interesting g place.
If you happen to be in the area and need an overnight spot, on the highway is a really good free camping area too, although it's marked only as a picnic spot.

When we did our Sth Aust trip in 2013, we camp in Big Desert state forest at Mt Pine camp, which is basically on the edge of the park behind Larry Perkins place, saw it while driving around the area

yes it is the national park, but it's actually Smallies Beach. That's good enough for me Give us an easy one
