Well I've got no idea where it is but since no-one else has has come up with something, I'll have a go.

If it's WC&IC as well as electricity commision then firstly it must be in NSW. Secondly it's probably related to the MIA and Snowy Mountains Hydro, so somewhere in southern NSW.

Judging by the trees its in an area that's been logged and it looks a bit mountainy. So I would say somewhere in south-east NSW but on the western side of the great divide.

How about somewhere around Tumbarumba?

Excellent investigations and deductions Sherlock.
Tumbarumba is SW of our destination and within 50kms.
I'm after the name of the hut which is the same as a nearby waterfall.

That's the one - Built in 1921 as part of the stream gauging station and was used as such until 1977. Was refurbished by Forrestry/Parks in 1986.

Where to now fitzy?

I know that one Fitzy. My uncle planted that row of poplars. Near puffing billy. Won't spoil it so quick.
