Thread: Where am I? Competition.

I don't really want to answer this as I don't want to go through the pain of finding another photo, but...

I've found a Dick's Knob about 7km east of Glenreagh on an escarpment at the edge of Sherwood Nature Reserve. Looking at the view in the photo, my guess is you are looking north west across Sherwood Creek, from somewhere along Lionel's Loop Rd, about 1km north of Dick's Knob.

You are also very close to some of the best rally roads in the country.

Yes, very close to rally country, and I am sure you would be glad to know you are ever so slightly off.

I was hinting at Dick's Knob, but you went in the wrong direction! Think more along Sherwood.

Google maps doesnt name this as the locals do, so I will take the name of road it is on. Again think more along Sherwood.

Ahhh Sherwood's Forrest. We go regularly but have absolutely no idea where you are. Roger will know he is a regular with SLOw trips.

I was relieved to hear that, but like a fool I'm trying again.

There's a little track off Sherwood Road that leads to the escarpment. It's marked on my topographic map as Waihou trig.

That would be it! Locals call it Sherwood Cliffs. Trig point is to the right on my picture. Super pretty place to camp out.
