Way too far north to be ESE of Glendambo. Hawker is quite near by but not the town I'm looking for. My previous post should give you the name of the road too, if your map skills are adequate. The name of the station that is at the other end of the road makes you think of logs eaten out by termites....

Not Parachilna either, same objection as above applies.

Can't see anything ESE of Glendambo until Pimba and Woomera. Maybe I need a better map.

Fair bit ESE of Glendambo if you set your sights a bit wider. You could almost hit Queenstown, NZ. Not that I think there's a tree or a road like this one there....

Well yeah, there aren't too many patches of bald hills in NZ like these, I do expect people to look closely at the picture before haring off across the seas.

Oh and Arkaroola suffers from the same problem as Parachilna and Blinman, too far north to be ESE of Glendambo.

Correct. A bunch of us did a three day bush camp cycle tour through the region in 2007, starting and finishing at the Carrieton pub. The road from Holowiliena southwards goes through some seriously devegetated country, this was at the height of the millenium drought. The day before the photo was taken we were in the Siccus River basin, very outback in its character. I can tell you the pub was a welcome end-of-ride sight.

Google Earth link to the approximate place of the shot here.
