    Non-standard paint for a 2/2a - the galvanising is painted over. Probably military spec.

    Interesting attachments on the roof,footman loop and just ahead of the alpine lights the Queen still drives a Defender on her private estates.

    But then she learnt to drive during WW11 as an army driver so would have no trouble with a crash gearbox

    Does the rounded "pedestrian safety" bonnet upgrade mean it's about a 68/69?

    No, the deluxe bonnet was standard on station wagons and optional on all others from the start of Series 2. And standard on lwb from start of Series 2a. In other words, it means nothing as far as date goes! (quite apart from the fact that swapping them is about five minutes)
