Why do 245/75/16 tyres look bigger than my 265/70/16 tyres. WHY? Are they bigger, taller or ....WHY???

    Well -
    245/75/16 are 749.4mm tall

    265/70/16 are 777.4mm tall

    They should be taller.
Tyres are not always exactly the size they say they are computed to be.
    Factors could also be
Tyre wear, weight of the car on tyres reducing diameter, surface differences?

    Wheres that tape measure?

Well according to the tyre calculater in here 245/75/16 are 30.5 and 265/70/16 are 30.6 so they are very close, i know cause these 2 tyre sizes are the only sizes that fit on the SII Disco spare mount without modifying the carrier.

the 75 series will look bigger than a 70 series tyre due the the higher sidewall....if it were a 35 series with the same circumference it would look smaller.

the higher the sidewall the bigger a tyre will look....its our eyes playing tricks on us....
