Mmmm Harvey in the mud. Bugger pity I wont be able to get down that way until September/October.
Hi Guys
We had a huge day out.
Thanks to Richard for a trip that was quite demanding.I had to push my landy harder than I ever have in a 4X4.It was quite challenging and very enjoyable.
We had Richard in his Rangie, with twin air lockers,4.6 motor and his TSL Super Swampers,he made extremely difficult sections look too easy.Richards son Micheal in his 6 month old NissanSTR dualcab, everyone was really impressed how well it went, must be the expert driver tuition dad handed out over the years Tony had a really nice grey Defender Extreme,he is a competent pilot and didnt hold back, those Extremes are very cabable vehicles 8) 8) .JamesH had a baptism into serious off roading with his 96 defender and handled his steed very well admitting he is a novice when it comes to off roading, there was one point to the end of the day whilst balanced in a very precarious position he wished he was anywhere but in his landy    All part of the learning curve James You will love telling all your mates the story.
Thanks again Richard,it was great to go out in the company of someone with your ability and experience.
Cant wait for the pics to start appearing.
Andrew
Thanks for those kind words Andy.
Yes I enjoyed the day, good company and always good driving in that area.
The only dissapointment was that there was very little mud
Yes JamesH appeared to have a couple of moments where he tried to recolour his seat, but it was not all bad, he lived to tell the tale, after nearly kissing the ground through his window :!: :!:
A few photos, unfortunately the photographer in this instance (me) didn't know how to use the borrowed camera so a number of shots didn't come out. Will put more up in my gallery shortly, and I'm sure JamesH and Frenchie will put a few up also.

I have duplicated my last post to the trips and tracks forum as a trip report
Thanks for a brilliant day Richard (and all the others too). As for that last hill, well now I know why may mate had the seat done in brown canvas. Still you were exactly right when you leant got down and leant in my window and said "Don't worry you will get out of this, no probs". I went down to learn and have fun and I did both by the bucket load.
Some highlights for me were some wise words on the UHF. I said after one reasonably hard hill that i did not think I took a very good path up and a voice said "You got up the top didn't you?"
Another hill, going down this time I tried to straddle a couple of ruts and the Defender deicided it was better to go into the ruts. While we argued I was going down sideways. I vague thought popped into my head that I had read somewhere that this was bad. So I gave into the Defender and completed the descent in the ruts wil no trouble. A voice came on the radio.
"Hmmm, that looked interesting"
Loved Andy's Series 3. What a top old girl she is.
Great day and I'll post some pics soon.
Good on you JamesH,,,

Some good pics there guys. That paint job looks better in the bush LA, quite nice. Matt
