    Here's some more funeral doom.
    Frowning- Murdered by grief.

I watched a clip on how slow music can be before it's no longer perceived as music... apparently the musical boffins think this threshold is approx 33 Beats Per Minute. Beyond this, beats no longer exist 'in the present'.
The above tops in at about 35BPM... so, it's psychologically difficult to perceive music much slower. Neato, huh?!

Down right frenetic when compared to the John cage piece as slow as possible . One version is slated to last about 640 years ! Not expecting a video any time soon.

I was actually going to mention that!
The next note in that piece is due to play in 2020.
I think the idea behind that concert ('stunt'?) is that there is not a perceivable tempo as such... just a arrangement of notes being played years apart.
Mozart said "The music is not in the notes, but in the silence between."

When you consider this quote in a musical sense, the visual equivalent could be considered as Gestault psychology- particularly 'Reification' where the mind interprets more explicit spatial information than the sensory stimulus on which it is based. In other words, our brain draws a conclusion without having significant information to have the proof that such a conclusion exists.
In the below example you can see various 2d and 3d shapes inferred from a collection of other shapes in the same context. Also known as 'illusory contours'.

For those who enjoy perceptual ambiguity re noise vs music distinctions and glacial bpm/progressions there is also SunnO)))

It's official. I think I've found the 'end of the line' for metal. I don't think much beyond this point would be worth listening to - for me at least.

    Gore-grind.
Gore-Grind music is characterized by its preoccupation with pitch-shifted or extremely low vocals, use of gore and forensic pathology as its exclusive subject matter, and often very fast tempos. Gore-Grind bands also have the refreshing tendency not to take themselves or their lyrics too seriously. This is evidenced by ... the often intricate and disgusting yet undeniably cartoonish splatter drawings that adorn many Gore-Grind album sleeves.

    Band in question: Rectal Smegma.

I'm glad they (as a sub-genre) don't take themselves too seriously, because I can't either! How could you with a song like Dildo lobotomy?
Their album art, particularly for 'Keep Smiling' is particularly amusing- there's quite the famous actress on the front cover.

Also stumbled upon Rompeprop in my travels, Album - Gargle commics (a take on Marvel comics, I'm led to believe)- this genre is getting weirder and weirder... Although my research leads me to believe these guys call themselves 'pornogrind' as an offshoot of goregrind, with more of a rock/pop flavour to what is already (and undeniably) some pretty dense stuff. Well at least I can say I've been there, and know what it's about. I probably won't return.

In other news, had the Spotify blasting some late model Sepultura- their 2009 A-Lex album.
This is their first album after the last Cavalera brother (Igor) left the band, but interestingly, it's a concpet album based off Anthony Burgess' novel (And Kubrick's Film) A Clockwork Orange.
Apart from their bigger hits like Roots Bloody Roots, and Refuse/Resist (Great song!), I've never digested a whole Sepultura album. This might just change- although probably for their classic earlier stuff moreso than the newer material where there were few of the original members left.

Post wouldn't be complete without a video... so, get 'rooted':

Saturnus. I've had this band playing while mounting doors and installing door hardware at home. It's 'easy listening'.

These Danish chaps do a psychadelic / doom goth sort of flavor with 'I Love Thee'. Circa 1997.

...With hit songs "No One Understands Me But My Horse." and "When I Cut Myself, I Bleed Beer."

I've heard that when you play country music backwards You get your girlfriend back, your truck back, and your dog finds its way home.
