Patients will have the power to suppress parts of the record they do not wish to be seen, as the health record will be controlled by the patient.
Budget 2015 sneaky bit
If a drug company forced everyone to take an untested medicine there would be outrage. Your medical records are currently secure. Electronic records in cyberspace are a great idea but only once a secure and fully tested and functional system is in place. Current system is none of the above.

Currently secure? You are kidding me right![]()
I was reading a medical journal on the weekend. An interesting article.
Basically, the doctors and their lawyers were saying, with the data retention laws, your medical dealings are no longer private or confidential.
oh well I don't give a **** if anyone knows about my diabetes2 and enlarged prostate.
let the world know.
Until they remove the very SNEAKY and legislated rights access electronic records for non medical people like insurance industry I am have not 'allay any of your (my) concerns"
10000 plus medical records I manage for my Doctors are encrypted, backed up and very secured. I know of many doctors who have tried to use the current system and said it would kill people if they used it as evidence for treatment of people who they had not obtained enough back ground from directly from or from their full prior medical in a transfer like we do securely every day when people ask and authorize us to move their records.
We do not have the first government to stuff this up by rushing it

Portable Electronic health records are a great idea. I will support fully once it is fully developed in your interest and for your health care. As far as I know all doctors who were helping walked away due to mismanagement. Sadly the links to deaths or near deaths due to poor records is much longer than above.![]()
Funny you should mention that. I tell legal people often when they have an issue say with a left foot they have no need to know about your proctolagist or grandmas pap smears.
Sadly I have to ague with at least one to five legal people a month who feel they should let their legal light shine where many of us might prefer to keep in private on in our pants![]()
Your free to tell everyone ramblingboy42 and I support your right to choose to do that with the current OPT IN. I just don't think everyone should be "Forced In" to full exposure of everyone's medical records as the budget just did.
its not sneaky, it was announced several days before the budget.
if you're worried about electronic records being stolen, think about how most companies you deal with store everything electronically.
insurance, tax, super, etc etc

1/3 or more people have at least one mental health issue in their medical records. Once this happens with the current rules they might not have life insurance cover if they did not disclose they were very upset when their mum, grandma, dog..... died, marriage failed or mmm,
My Medical records are very boring. Not even a prostate check to dateMany people might be a little shocked that comments about their wife, husband, families medical history or more. I am not worried about stolen Evo, I am worried about who the Government allowed 'legal' access to the PCEHR records.
