We need to reduce the salt toll.
More Victorians die from excessive salt consumption than from car accidents, study shows - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
The salt toll is SIX times the road toll!
We need the Salt Police to get on to this one. Zero tolerance I say.
I cut out sugar for the same reason , It took a while to get used to not having It . Now I couldn't drink tea with sugar in It . I think to cut out salt would make food very bland , simple thing like chips , just wouldn't taste the same , not that I eat a lot of chips !!.. Jim..
First we close down the fish and chip shops that are guilty of Salt and Battering. Gimme food without useless crud spread all over it.![]()
yeah, shut down Maccas, HJ's, KFC and Red Rooster.
I used to put salt on everything I ate (used to get salt tablets supplied in the Mt Isa u/ground mine) until I met my dear wife & for the last 30 odd years have been salt free.
Food is not bland without salt even though it seems that way at the start.
Just as a point of interest, salt on a fried egg will absorb around 70% of the eggs protein which the body has no way of extracting from the salt when ingested.
I'm slowly starting to cut back on my sugar consumption but I'm finding that way harder to do than salt. I love a sweet cup of tea in the early morn

I don't know... My reasoning has always been that I only live once. I love my salt. In fact I put salt on my salt...
Amazing thing is that I have just passed my Cat 1 medical with flying colours. Except for cholesterol which is a tad high. But that runs in my family from our Eastern European diet.
I couldn't live without my salty diet. And if it eventually kills me, so be it. Something is going to anyway...

I cut out extra sugar and salt. Takes a while to get used to it but once you do, food actually tastes better. That's when you realise it was the sugar or salt that was dominating the flavour of the actual food. I used to drink tea with milk and two. Now black tea with no sugar allows you to differentiate between different types of tea. Not for everyone I know but glad I did it.
