Can you draw motorbikes Robert?
The 49 Ajay is close to my heart because it was my first legal registered
motorbike.
I rode it hard therefore it was not terribly reliable but I loved the thing.
I sold it in 1957 to buy an engagement ring.
Mixed emotions about it at the time.
Sigh.
I love them, I have nice memories about the Ariel, AJS and the Matchless bikes
About sixty years ago I became a member of the Merrylands District Motorcycle Club.
One of the members, Kieth Jones, had a stripped 125cc Acme and we would take it to the Deadmans Creek area along the Heathcote Road for Trials club days.
Very thick and rocky.
Great fun, all riding the Acme.
I understand that he ( turned eighty last year ) still has it and it is still a goer.
My ex BIL, Wally Cox, is about eighty and still racing his Slider at Nepean Raceway.
Let me know when you're taking commissions Robert, I'd love a one off of my Goldwing.
We had a 56 Thunderbird for a while.
They were terrific, BIL had an orange Tiger ten about the same time.
Included is a photo of my late wife Betty taken about 1959 ?
