I know the older keepers are against the flow hive. I will find out why, and post here. Something to do with not enough checks done to the hive, and pests & diseases taking over. Could be just old bull, young bull, and not accepting change. Bob

Of course it could Bio security works in every state just cause we aint mainland we aint stupid ---- but again that has nought to do with regulation

Can you name 3 things that the regulators have taken over that still work properly in the manner promised tis like believing in fairys

How can I put this politely at every port in Tasmania there are hives placed to catch any ferals that arrive on boats

We also have fly traps on fruit trees in case any mainland flys arrived uninvited

You seem to forget that the average Tasmanian has 2 heads which makes them twice as smart

Many of our beekeepers have been up in cairns trying help sort out the mess up there with imported variety's of bees again illrelevant to regulation

But these precautions have nought nil zero or in plain language bugger all to do with bio security tis a furhy ---- And I can assure yo know one will be coming to check my hives

On the surface it looks like a good idea

But if it encourages peeps to get a hive

Stick it in the garden and just visit to get

Honey it will be a disaster Bee Keeping

Involves a lot more than just Robbing

Also the system of inspection of hives, and reporting of pests & diseases , which I believe has been incorporated in the Australian system, to an extent. Bob I think it also shows why the flow hive set up will not work , long term.

Tis a major problem it would seem spraying is a major cause

Lost 8 hives myself a couple years back due to spraying paddocks

Never did find out what they were spraying the mongrels

Read a report tother day that even round up is causing probs

Which was a spray which I alus considerd harmless

So you never know ----- tis a conspiracy agin Beekeepers
