In a nutshell yes - priority service costs more. Standard delivery is getting worse - it usually moves within 3 buisness days now, rather than everyday. Most services have been halved this way to save costs.
4 days no movement does seem excessive unless it was shipped on a Friday and has been sitting there all weekend - it should have been dispatched by this morning at the latest I would have though, but anythings possible with them...
I have 2 friends that work for Aust Post and they both tell me moral has never been lower there, and he said it's been bad for quite a few years now.
I'll make no comment on some of the board members that are running the show there now, I'll get into trouble...

Yet when you order parts from the UK, they turn up 4 days later from 15,000KM away.![]()

I sent two copies of a magazine by post. Both posted the same time in Vic. The fellow in the UK had his copy before the fellow in WA got his.
Mind you, planes are quicker than trucks, unless your name is Ian.
Thats the same for people living on the East Coast also. It's just incredible and Chullora is a useless facility that appears to have no procedures in place to deal with labels the machine apparently cant read apart from resending it through the machine every 3 days until something magically changes and it gets a good scan - a month later!
Cheers

They have also systematically removed Overseas parcel tracking from China and it seems the USA Postal service (USPS) along with reciprocal tracking number service, I can follow Chinese parcels through China no probs but no tracking once it gets to Aus either through China Post or AusPost.
Even Eparcel stuff is getting very hit and miss and my MyPost account is now no better than tracking from their public page.
Ordered a set of front struts from an Aussie seller at 2am, they marked it as sent at midday (Sent from a PO) and the parcel was showing as on its way.
Ordered much better quality Struts from a regular US supplier and the same hour ordered a pile of suspension components from Germany and the US order took 4 days via their postal service, the German order (Skandix) took 3 days via DHL and 12 working days later the QLD order arrived.
Today I chased up a small parcel Id ordered from a supplier here in Melbourne Wed last week that Auspost seem to have lost (3kg Express satch) instead of it arriving on Friday and when I rang Auspost and finally got through they couldnt tell me as much as their tracking service did.
They dont want to do Parcel post it seems and even Startrak (Now owned by Apupost) seem to be subbing their work out to local courier companies.
Im seriously thinking of getting a Toll account again lol
I also recently sent out 900 something letters, Off peak econo mail and even that cost me 90 something cents each up 30 cents on the last batch I sent before christmas and apparently nearly 20% havent been received 3 weeks later.
Mailchimp next time methinks.

I believe other national posts are equally as slow. Yesterday I received an airmail card. It was a Xmas card. Four weeks late , not bad. And the gifts we sent over to Canada again by air mail were only delivered earlier this week. A card sent seperately still hasn't arrived.
