Eurovision song contest, with an Aussie in the final?

Can anyone explain how an Aussie is in the final of the contest, representing Australia? Bob

It's a one off inclusion because of some anniversary or something according to the people on the idiot box harping on about it.

    Why shouldn't she have won?
Besides. It's a voter based system

Why not? Thomas gave a very entertaining performance.
I think the contest is more about entertainment than singing or the song.

As far as "local" content goes , I heard that there was a petition of sorts to have TISM as the Aust. representitive. It would have been well worth watching then.

Have to admit, had a fleeting look at this years contest, and it looks like the standard is a bit higher , as far as musical talent goes. The English entrants are very good. Didn't see any men in dresses, thankfully. I think. Bob
