Go the STs, but don't be a W**k* and put the lettering on the outside.

From all accounts they are a top tyre, but the S/T's werent suited to the tracks around here do to loose sharp shale chopping them to bits, and the S/T-C's were available in a size i was comfortable with given my sagging suspension. MattQuote:

I like the look of the STTs, they look a bit similar to the gooydyear MTRs, which I have just put on the 'fender. I was a little concerned about extra noise etc, but have not noticed any difference at all.
He sent me a PM letting me know he had paid for his stickers a couple of days ago, but i havent seen him on the forum lately. MattQuote:

I am now on my 2nd set of ST's. Had them on a Pathfinder and got just over 100k from them altough the noise gave me the ****s. I think the Monocoque body didn't help here as noise was transmitted directly to the cabin. On my current Disco 11 they are perfoming well, noise is low and off road they are adequate at the very least...... I love 'em
Alan
had ST's on SWMBO Patrol and we were pretty impressed with them. Self clean fairly well with a bit of wheel spin going in the black stuff around here on the two occaisons it rained in the last three years  and didn't chip badly on the local gravel roads.
What was a little disconcerting was the myriad of hairline cracks that developed in the sidewalls very early on in their life, but we got 80 000km out of them on a mixture of mainly highway (towing) and local roads that are known to kill tyres fairly quickly. I was always a little concerned about the sidewalls as well, as they (265/75/16) bagged a fair bit on the stock 8" rims, but we never had a problem.
Replaced them with BFG A/T's, which clog up pretty quickly in mud, but otherwise have been fine for the last 15 000km.

Hiline,
I'm very seriously going down the path of the Cooper S/T with a 17*8" CSA/Mullins wheel (with some machining to fit the D3 spigot). I'd would have gone with the ST-C but they aren't in the 17"
So I'm in the market for 5 new wheels and tyres. Does your mate at Knox Tyrepower do Coopers and would they arrange some centre machining of the CSA/Mullins wheel?
Thanks
Chris
