Hi crossy, with the noise the horn is making, you couldn’t have done a thing about it.

I am sorry for her family [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif[/img] but the horn was sounding and they are loud.
Accidents will happen and 90% of these are caused by human error. It is a mistake some people make they cannot estimate the speed that something is comming at.

On the other hand, what idiot crosses them while a train is also doing so.

Either they didn't check first (bad mistake) OR

They thought "Yeah I see the train but I'll stop just before it hits me. That way I'll be over the railway line much quicker than those suckers waiting back before the tracks". (Horribly stupid, but equally fatal, mistake).

Two words.

Actually folks, it was just an innocent mistake.

The video I posted is not all than clear but there is a local standing at the platform on the first track the two people are crossing.

When they heard the horn, they probably thought it was this train sitting at the platform and started to hurry across.

The guy looked left but the woman, instinctively looked right ( USA road rules ) and it cost her, her life.

Very sickening! At least she wouldn't have suffered, it was that quick.

Maybe if the train had slowed right down for such a dangerous crossing, she would be alive today [img]style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif[/img] .

Its like drivers who rip along side a row of waiting cars, not realising the cars are blocking half their view of the intersection ahead.
