You get a couple of months at best out of the Volley 'Internationals' before the soles become holed. I recently came across Volley 'Classics' ($10 dearer) that are a bit sturdier - they lasted about 4 months before becoming holed. They used to be great shoes - I have had friends show me their 30 year old volley's and they are really strong.
