Fifteen years ago I was working for a medium sized engineering company whose main role was fabrication to the mining sector. The drawings stipulated the grade and compliance of the material, generally excluding all but BHP steel. We were invited to tender on some major infrastructure, with a warning that the quote had to be keen as Asian fabricators were also tendering. We lost the tender, a Vietnamese company quoted an on-site price, lower than we could buy the steel for.
If you don't like trucks, stop buying stuff.
