So you're comparing a fictional movie character's actions on film, with the real life crimes of an actor? Who then turns around and blames the country that gave him leniency on the offence allowing him to export the animals out of the country.

I don't really care about the colourful Los Angeles identity, but do find it offensive when people like that get special treatment that Aussies and other ordinary people don't.

There would be no problems if we had of took a needle to the mutts in accordance with our laws. Problem solved, no one in future would try the same and think they can do the same.

If Depp don't come back there wont be any complaints from me.
Just another from Hollywood who thinks they are above the rules.

    Cheers Ean

    "I'm on the drugs..."

    "I'm on the drugs..."

"I'm on the drugs that killed River Phoenix..."

.....so he must be someone important as well.....

He'll never be an Ol man river

    My fav verse is:
I saw his body thrashing round.
I saw his pulse rate going down.
I saw him in convulsive throws.
I said "I'll have one of those."

I thought that the media , mainly TV but papers as well , took this story way beyond where It deserved to be . Sure he shouldn't have brought them in , but let's face It these weren't scabby rabid dogs , I know some will say They could have been , and the Law is the Law . If these same Laws would have been in place years ago , there would be No cattle sheep , horses , dogs , act . I just think It's been made into a circus !!..Jim

Rabies is endemic in the US, there is a great possibility a Depp dog would have it.

Look what happened with Equine flu that came in on race horses and the damage that did to the domestic horses who had never had any contact with the virus. With all the money spent on race horses who would have thought one of them would have been infected.

After WW1 all but one of the Australian horses didn't return. The rest were donated to the Indian Army, surrended to Egyptians to live out their lives in misery or euthanised by their troopers. Australian Military dogs up to Afghanistan were never permitted to return and they have to go through quarantine before they are returned.

If the laws we had in place twenty years ago were still in place, the Depp dogs would have had to spend a year in NZ before coming to Australia.

These laws have been in place for quite some time. If you want to bring your pets into the country, you can. Livestock are imported all the time. Just look at how many international entries are in the Melbourne Cup each year. There is a process, though. It's called quarantine.
He should not have taken them out of America for the short time he was here filming.

I enjoy Mr Depp's work. I have several of his movies (loved Ed Wood) but if he boycotts Australia, I'll boycott his movies and other acting work.
