Hey Baz,

I guess that if the clock was wound back it wouldn't have happened regardless of tyres or their pressure.

The Ford Exploder would have been left at the bottom of the hill and you would have been either a passenger in someone else's Land Rover or a pedestrian.

It wasnt really that bad of a situation, but as i said tyre pressures werent the problem, he wasnt stuck he just didnt have the room to manuvure as the vehicle was pointing in an nasty direction with relation to the trees. Pretty easy to recover really, its amazing how easy it is to watch someone else operate the hand winch Matt

Mahn like Matt said i had no trouble getting up it was when i changed direction to go around a tree i left the turn a bit too late and had to make a sharper than expected turn and i hesitated as well so when i went to turn again to go up because of the angle i lost traction and the car started to slide down hill.

I must say i was very impressed with how the hand winch worked, a very good purchace indeed worth the $450 i paid for it i was thinking of selling it but after how it performed on sunday no way i'd sell it now.

if i could get a hand winch with a jason for $450 i would buy a couple of them......

its jason that made winching easy for you i think.....

what would you have done if you only had a electric winch....is there any way it would have helped in this situation?

Yeah just would of put a strap on the back and winched from the front, actually it probibly would of been easier and i would just gone to the top and turned around where Phil did.

$450 sounds like a reasonable recovery fee to me
