Our Merc prime mover has been playing up,the automated gearbox wouldnt give 6th on a downchange,despite the computer clunk saying the gearbox was ready to shift.
Had it diagnosed by LovemyV8rangie(parts manager at the joint we bought it) over the phone talking to Spot,10mins.His call was a 6th gear syncro failure.
We took it to Perth,waited for the toolmen to diagnose.5 hours later,could be a 6th gear syncro failure.Gearbox needs to come out to confirm.
Over a week later after removing and striping,they say gearbox is toast,its had water in it.$28000 to rebuild,plus clutch plus removal/fitting fees.If we want a new box,$42000,plus clutch,plus fitting fees.
Truck was due to be replaced 2 years ago:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
