Josephus, a historian contemporary to the events, wrote that the inhabitants committed suicide or died at the hands of other Sicarii.

If you understand that the Sicarii captured Masada from the Roman garrison, then subsequently started raiding other Jewish villages and were to now consider them against modern day extremist groups, comparisons would have to be drawn with Daesh.

Yes, massacred was too strong a word for what happened at Masada - my bad. As you say the Sicarii were like extreme Zealots, like Daesh ISIS are extreme Muslims or the KKK are extreme Christians. Being prepared to kill your own people because you think they are not good enough to meet your own warped standards is certainly extreme. Imagine if we Defender owners decided that all other LRs were not real LRs and should be fire-bombed.

Now there's an idea! But then the leaf spring owners might decide that real LRs don't have coils. And the Series One blokes might decide that real LRs don't have pendant pedals. And the 80" owners might decide that real LRs don't have vertical door back edges. And the 48/49 owners might decide that real LRs have the headlights behind the grille.

Maybe not such a bright idea after all.

Could get messy. Coils have the numbers but the leafy ones might be more zealous.
