What happened to 'Spare the rod and spoil the child'?
Girls are just as bad also.
Have to bear in mind that it's a minority, most kids are respectful and responsible.
I guess the point is it's important to be realistic with kids, let them try and struggle at times, give real feedback, warts and all and set them up to know when they really do achieve.
For example, I have never given 100 percent for a written assignment on principle that it can always be improved.
My boy Lachy knows that if he doesn't go hard and do his best his backing will be withdrawn, along with his privileges. I still tell him he's the best at the end of the day, every day, even if he's had a rollicking.
Those of you who know him feel free to comment.
A lot of parents I know raising their kids the same way.
Having said that, I don't disagree with Mr Carr-Gregg.
Lot of great kids out there, but also some who are indulged and others who are neglected.
Wishing to watch a movie tonight , and not one I want is on , where is a Chanel for b grades like Hummanoids from the Deep or Brother Fom Another Planet ? Even Repoman that used to get onto the world movies channel on a semi regular basis ? Mainstream stuff bore me to death.

I'm watching The Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy at the moment - the film from 2005. Need to watch the BBC version again soon I think as well. :)
Never got through it. The BBC series was great. The only Eagles song I like is the opening tune. One I have watched in its entirety on you tube. A thousand bloody acres is another I could watch again esp double featured with motel hell .
